FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Yes it is possible. However some conditions may apply depending on the region to be shipped to or from. For example, in the UK by law, the Human Fertilization and Embryo Authority (HFEA) requires some conditions to be met before import and export of gametes and embryos to and from other countries to the UK can go ahead.
Yes it is, if handled properly. Frozen gametes/embryos are to remain at ultra-low temperature (-190 degrees Celsius) while in transit. This is to ensure that they remain in the same state as they were stored in the storage/IVF facility. Fluctuation in temperature be it at the storage/IVF facility or during transit can render the reproductive samples non-viable.
At Kryogen Systems, each shipment is handled and managed by specialist with at least 7 years’ experience in Embryology and logistics. Embryologists are scientists specialized in the science and technicalities revolving around fresh and frozen gametes and embryos. As a result, this wealth of experience is channeled into each shipment to make sure reproductive samples are shipped in safe and secure environmental conditions.

Prior to the arrangement of the transportation, both the sending and receiving facilities have to be informed of your intention to ship your reproductive sample. This is because there may be processes that need to be engaged at these facilities to enable release/ receipt of reproductive samples. This also enables, both pickup and recipient facilities to meet up with any requirements they may require of each other. In addition, Kryogen Systems will require you to fill out some documents and make a non-refundable full payment. Once this has been done, shipment can proceed. The length of the preparatory stage prior to shipment is dependent on the speed at which the client is able to resolve with both pick up and receiving facilities and also how fast both facilities can resolve with each other. Following the preparatory stage, the execution of the shipment takes no more than 1-3 weeks.
Transportation price is usually dependent on the destination and is independent of how many reproductive samples transported per shipment. To find out about our prices please contact.
We use dry-shippers by world renowned cryogenic equipment manufacturers, Taylor Wharton and these containers after priming can sustain the reproductive samples in the same environmental conditions observed in long term storage with liquid nitrogen. Our containers are designed to maintain an optimum environment for at least 21 days from filling.
